Hi, nice to meet you!

My name is Jessica Untch and I’m the owner of Revelry Creative Workshops. I have a master’s degree in adult education and have been teaching workforce classes for 15 years, but I’ve always had an artistic side and a desire to do something creative of my own. Art classes were among my favorites in school and college, and I grew up on a farm in rural Ohio making crafts from items I found in nature.

I started Revelry Creative Workshops in the spring of 2020. When the pandemic began and my work hours were reduced, my friend Rebekah and I created a plan to turn our craft hobby into a side business. We developed the idea while at the park with our kids; she had brought some watercolor supplies and was teaching me how to paint a Mason jar with flowers. It was such a joyful experience that we decided we would try and bring the same feeling to others by giving them an opportunity to gather, be happy, and create something meaningful to remember the experience. I decided to name the business Revelry, a synonym for joy. I still look at the watercolor painting we made that day with fondness & gratitude for our friendship. 

Many of our customers attend as multigenerational groups that enjoy having an activity to do together. Quality time with family and friends is like gold in our busy world, and we’re passionate about providing that opportunity.

Teaching creative workshops seemed like a natural fit for me because many of the skills I use in my professional job could be applied in this endeavor. Revelry is primarily a mobile business that partners with other businesses and individuals to bring craft workshops to their on-site locations. Examples of venues include wineries, breweries, country clubs, schools, workplaces, and many others in the Cleveland, Akron, and Canton areas. Workshops are tailored to fit customer needs, budget, and interests.
